City patrol officer 'stable' after falling on head during foot pursuit
BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- An officer fell during a foot pursuit in west Baltimore on Wednesday night and sustained injuries to his head, Baltimore Police confirmed.
The officer was transported to Shock Trauma. As of 10:00 p.m. Mayor Catherine Pugh and Commissioner Davis updated that the officer is in critical condition but stable.
The incident happened around 7:20 p.m. when a patrol officer was in the area of Lauretta Avenue and N Payson Street conducting surveillance on narcotic activity.
Additional policemen were called to the scene in an attempt to stop a suspected narcotic dealer that fled on foot leading to a pursuit.
The officer feel on the ground and hit his head become unconscious. He was then taken to Shock Trauma.
