One of two men shot in Howard Park dies after driving to hospital

BALTIMORE (WBFF) – A man who drove himself to an area hospital after a shooting in Northwest Baltimore on Thursday afternoon has died.

Baltimore City Police officers responded to reports off gunshots in the area of Ferndale Avenue and Auburn Road in Northwest Baltimore at about 1:26p.m. After finding no victims or witnesses there, police were called to an area hospital about two shooting victims seeking treatment.

When they arrived, medical and security personnel at the hospital told officers that one man had driven his car to the rear loaded dock of the hospital. After he arrived, he became unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead by medical personnel, police said.

On Friday, police identified the first victim as 33 year-old Donte Harris of N Luzerne Ave in East Baltimore.

A second man, 43, arrived separately at the hospital to seek treatment for a gunshot wound. He told police he had been shot on the same block in Howard Park where officers had responded earlier on Thursday.

Police have confirmed that both men were shot in the same incident.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case. Police have not positively identified the man who died from the shooting.
