"Jaws of Life" used in Edgewood crash; Man in serious but stable condition
EDGEWOOD, Md. (WBFF) -- On Friday afternoon, Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and the Abingdon Fire Company responded to a vehicle collision in Edgewood, with one person reported as trapped.
At 4:34 p.m. crews arrived at the scene on MD-24/Emmorton Road between Edgewood Road and I-95 in Edgewood.
Officials say the rescuers began using the "Jaws of Life" to extricate the seriously injured adult male. They say it took about ten minutes to remove the patient and place him into the care of waiting paramedics.
The patient was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Trauma Center in serious, but stable condition.
Maryland State Police Troopers are investigating the incident.
