Police Investigate Southwest Baltimore Murder

BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- Baltimore City Police are investigating the death of a man, they say was beaten to death in Southwest Baltimore.

Police were called to Poplar Grove Street near N Franklintown Road around 1am, Wednesday for a reported stabbing.

Officers found 32-year-old Davion Evans in the grass, bleeding heavily. Detectives say Evans was in the 600 block of Poplar Grove St when he was assaulted by several people and hit with a blunt force object.

He continued walking and collapsed, a block away from the assault. Evans was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

This is the 246th homicide of 2017 in Baltimore City. Last year, at this time, 213 people had been killed.
