Pregnant woman killed, man injured in separate afternoon shootings
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A pregnant woman is dead and a man injured after separate shootings only an hour apart, police said.
According to Baltimore City police, it took over two hours for the woman to be transported to the hospital. A call came in to 911 at 3:30 p.m. reporting that shots had been fired on Claybury Avenue in northeast Baltimore. Arriving officers were only able to locate shell casings but no victims.
Shortly before 6 p.m., an adult female was found lying outside of an area hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Unfortunately, she died shortly after arriving at the hospital, doctors were unable to save her baby.
The incident is believed to be domestic and a person of interest has been identified, police say.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
An hour later, a man was shot in the arm and leg on Bank Street in southeast Baltimore. He was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
Investigators say the victim was working at a carry-out restaurant when a robbery suspect entered the location and shot the victim. Police say he fled the scene.
