PRIDE WEEKEND | 12 Baltimore Starbucks stores to be 'safe zones'
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Twelve Starbucks businesses in Baltimore are offering more than just coffee.
They are now designated "safe zones."
Baltimore Police have just launched a new program offering businesses the opportunity to designate themselves as "safe zones."
It means people who feel threatened or have been victimized in some way can go there and wait for police, rather than being alone on the street.
Signs are posted in the windows, showing "safe zones."
The announcement comes just days before an expected crowd of 30,000 arrives for Pride Weekend.
