Randallstown man pleads guilty to sexual exploitation of children
RANDALLSTOWN, Md. (WBFF) - A 39-year-old Randallstown man pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a 7-year-old boy and faces up to 60 years in prison, according to a news release.
Kenneth M. Smith admitted to sexually abusing the boy and taking photos of the abuse with his phone.
"Investigators located the photographs of Smith engaged in sexually explicit conduct with the boy," reported the U.S. Attorney's office. "Investigators also recovered thousands of other videos and images of children being sexually abused, including images and videos of the rape of children, including infants and toddlers. Smith also used his e-mail accounts to send and receive child pornography."
Baltimore County police found Smith's laptop in October 2015, which had an active file-sharing program that was downloading child pornography files when agents accessed it.
Smith also admitted to previously abusing a young girl in Washington County; he was sentenced to 16 years on those charges after being convicted in 2017.
He faces a minimum of 15 years in jail and up to 60 years.
Sentencing is set for Oct. 12, 2018.
