VIDEO: Police detail pursuit

BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- Baltimore City Police say the man arrested in connection with Friday's active shooting and police pursuit is being held without bail.

Mausean Carter had a bail review Monday morning where he faced a judge for multiple incidents.

Police say they believe Carter is responsible for several area shootings in recent weeks.

Friday, police say Carter took them on a lengthy pursuit through West and Northwest Baltimore as he allegedly shot at officers and bystanders.

Two people were shot Friday during the "active shooter" incident.

Police say the pursuit started with a traffic stop after an officer recognized the vehicle as one that'd been wanted in reference to previous shootings.

Police say the car matched the description of a vehicle that'd been used in several "drive-by" shootings in recent days, a silver Lexus with dark tinted windows.

-December 8th 2500 Edmondson Ave a man sustained a gunshot wound to his hip. Police said it was a drive-by shooting.

-December 14th 4500 Reisterstown Road, a 21-year-old was shot, and died shortly thereafter. Police say according to witnesses, the shooter held a gun out the window and began firing.

-December 14th about 6pm, a triple shooting was reported in the 900 block of Poplar Grove. Police say the person who died worked in the location, they received gunshot wound to the head and died. Two others, a 16 year old and 24 year old also shot. Police say the evidence was consistent that the same vehicle with the same description was involved.

Police say as Carter attempted to elude officers Friday, he shot at officers and injured people along the way.

-3100 block of W. North Ave., a 48-year-old man who worked in a store at the location, was shot in the leg.

-Rogers Ave near Wabash Ave a 57-year-old man was shot as he sat in the passenger seat of a car. He was inititally listed in critical condition, police said Monday he was expected to survive. After the shooting, a person who was in the car with that victim, went into cardiac arrest.

-Shots were fired at two others in the 4400 block of Park Heights Ave, neither of those people were hit. A 50-year-old man sustained injuries due to shattering glass.

Carter was taken into custody near Mondawmin Mall after he stopped to greet his girlfriend with whom he'd been in contact with. Police say she ran to the car and got the suspect out of the car.

Carter is being held without bail.

He was placed on suicide watch as he awaits a preliminary hearing.

Carter is charged with multiple offenses including, murder, attempted murder, assault and handgun charges.

His preliminary hearings are set for January.
