STUCK | Snow snarls roads, causes crashes regionwide
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - It was only about 1 inch of snow at most, but it caused a major mess on roads throughout the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas Friday afternoon.
Traffic was gridlocked through much of the afternoon and multiple accidents were being reported as plows tried to get past the cars.
Low temperatures caused snow to stick immediately, prompting slush and slippery conditions.
Schools and other institutions and businesses closed early.
Emergency officials asked drivers to stay off the streets so they could clear the snow.
As much as 1.5 inches were reported in places like Kingsville, at the Baltimore/Harford county line.
Harford County was reporting 38 accidents, on county roads alone, since 11 a.m. (That number does not include state or municipal roads.)
