Teen gunned down in east Baltimore described as talented artist

BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- A teenager shot and killed last week in Baltimore showed promising art and music skills.

It was in east Baltimore, on the southwest corner of Clifton Park, where 17-year-old Desean Mcelveen was shot and killed last week. City police say Mcelveen was walking with a man when a black van pulled up and started shooting. He was killed. The other man was shot in the leg and survived.

Mcelveen was known in the local hip hop community as "Young Smoke."

His songs are available on SoundCloud.

FOX45’s Paul Gessler spoke with the director of Baltimore Youth Arts where Mcelveen had been a participant. She described him as a talented artist.

Mcelveen's murder case remains open.

Anyone with information about that black van or anything else about the case is urged to call Baltimore City Police.
