The real price of politics: Local bagel shop owner experiences firsthand
PIKESVILLE, Md. (WBFF) -- What’s the price of a political view? The owner of Goldberg’s Bagels in Pikesville knows.
Two weeks before Election Day, word got out that owner Stanley Driben supported Donald Trump in the race for president. What followed was a barrage of angry online reviews. One writer called him a “bigot.” Another wrote, “I’ll never go back.”
“People love to badmouth people,” said Driben, who notes that business at Goldberg’s has declined 15-percent in the past month.
“If you don’t want to buy the food, that’s fine, but to tell everyone not to come and buy my food because you disagree with me is like, amazing. So much hate,” Driben said.
