Water main break affects Reisterstown Thursday evening
REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WBFF) - Homes and businesses in Reisterstown were affected by a water main break Thursday afternoon, reported Baltimore's Department of Public Works.
A 12-inch water main at Beacon Brook Circle and Gwynnwest Road broke, affecting service to an area pumping station.
"Crews were able to isolate the problem and the tanks are filling now," said Jeffrey Raymond, spokesperson for the Public Works department, shortly before 7 p.m. "We should be able to restore service to much of the impacted area soon."
Officials could not say how many customers were affected, but businesses from as far away as Main Street, more than a mile away, were reporting impacts.
The Grill at Harryman House, on Main Street, at first tweeted it would be closed, but then said it would be open after all after water was restored.
