Weekend fire claims life of East Baltimore man
BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- Baltimore City fire officials announce the death of a man, burned in an East Baltimore fire over the weekend.
Just before 12:30 a.m., Sunday, Baltimore City firefighters were dispatched to the 400 block of E. 21st Street for the report of a fire.
On scene, fire crews reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the first and second floor of a vacant three-story rowhome. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. They found a 56-year-old man outside of the home suffering from multiple burns to his body.
The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment. On Wednesday, November 15, at 2:22 p.m. he died at the hospital due to smoke inhalation and burns to 46 percent of his body.
The 56-year-old man was identified as Danny Yarborough.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
So far this year there have been 24 fire fatalities in Baltimore City.
