Reindeer wrangler catches a deer loose in Kohl's store
TROY, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Christmas shoppers got a wild surprise over the weekend when a deer ran through a Kohl's in Troy, Ohio.
The man who wrangled it says he wanted to keep customers safe.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Rudolph emerged to do some last minute shopping at Kohl's.
“We were at the jewelry counter when we heard a commotion at the front door ,” Bill Krimm said.
Just like that, Krimm found himself hunting.
The deer burst through the door, heading straight to home decor.
“As soon as I saw it going back into the aisles I chased it,” Krimm said. “I wanted to pin it in the back, hoping to keep it from running through the rest of the store.”
The deer saw its reflection in a mirror and stopped.
It slipped, that's when Krimm sprang into action.
He straddled the buck while others jumped in to help.
“I was probably on it for 10 minutes before the police came,” Krimm said.
Once Troy officers arrived, they hog tied the deer and carried it to an exit at the back of the store.
“I helped hold it down, we all released it and then it ran back through the apartments behind Kohl’s,” Krimm said.
The deer had a few cuts but nothing major. Kohl's saw only some minor damage.
Bill walked away with a sore knee and a new nickname. His friends now call him the Reindeer Wrangler.
“It's been a lot of fun, I'm just glad no one got hurt,” Krimm said.
