Arnold woman charged with murder of infant son

OAKLAND, Md. (AP) -- An Arnold woman has been indicted in Garrett County for the death of her newborn son.
State's Attorney Lisa Thayer Welch said Thursday that 27-year-old Jamie Lynn Hiemenz is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, first-degree child abuse and reckless endangerment. She was released after posting a $50,000 bond.
Hiemenz couldn't be reached for comment and her attorney didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment.
Welch says Hiemenz showed up at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland on Sept. 19, carrying a baby boy she claimed to have miscarried. Welch says the child was born earlier that day.
