FOX45 News is the FIRST and ONLY news station in Baltimore to broadcast in HIGH DEFINITION! On June 2, 2008 FOX45 made local broadcast history by launching our newscasts in HD and ushering in a new era in local broadcast news. FOX45 is the ONLY place where you can see local news in this new format. Other stations still broadcast in standard definition - even "upconverting" their picture to try and replicate the high quality of HD. But only FOX45 broadcasts news in true High Definition.

What does this mean to you? Well, if you own an HD set, you will instantly see a major improvement in video quality. The set shots are crisp and clear and take up the enter 16:9 aspect ratio of your TV. Even if you still have a standard definition TV, you will notice improvements in clarity and sharpness. You can read more about the improvements from the official press release.

With our upgrade comes a brand new high definition news set! Want to see something really cool? Click on the link to the right that says "HD Transition: Time Lapse video - Building the Sets" to see time lapse construction of the new FOX45 News HD set!
