Perry Hall United Methodist Church Shows its Support for the Ravens

Updated: Sunday, February 3 2013, 08:49 PM EST
PERRY HALL -- The Perry Hall United Methodist Church congregation filled its front steps Sunday of the church after 9:30 service.

"It's nice that we can show community spirit reaching out beyond the four walls," Pastor Vic Harner said. "You'll always have those die-hard fans that are always there no matter what, but it's nice to see others kind of come on board. It's that sense of comradarie."

Harner's church was one of many in the Baltimore area filled with purple pews Sunday.

"I want peace for the world, but I want the Ravens to win," Sheri Riedlbauer said, showing off her temporary Ravens' neck tattoo. "For the last four weeks, it's been very normal (wearing Ravens gear to church). I've been wearing purple for the past four weeks now since they won (at) Denver."

In Vatican City, Cardinal Edwin O'Brien of Baltimore hosted Ravens fans for a dinner and Super Bowl watch party.

"(We are) just praying it's a good game and no one gets hurt and it's a good competition," Perry Hall United Methodist Church member Tony Schramm said, in his purple Ed Reed jersey.Perry Hall United Methodist Church Shows its Support for the Ravens
