Baltimore City Public Remembers Art Donovan

Updated: Monday, August 5 2013, 06:41 PM EDT

Funeral plans are in the works for former Baltimore Colt Art Donovan. Donovan died Sunday night at the age of 88.

Even after Donovan hung up his uniform, he continued to spread good will. His unique personality and humble, down-to-earth nature endeared him to the Baltimore City public.

FOX45’s Kathleen Cairns spoke to people around the city on Monday to get their memories of the Baltimore legend. They described him as a two-time NFL champion, who loved the state of Maryland even though he was born in the Bronx, a man whose nickname was bulldog and who loved to laugh, and was a thorn in the side of rival team the Packers.

Art Donovan leaves behind a wife, five children and seven grandchildren as well as a community that will miss him and will remember his many contributions both on and off the field.
