Baltimore Ravens React to Tomlin Fine for Interfering With On-Field Play

Updated: Wednesday, December 4 2013, 12:55 PM EST

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was fined $100,000 on Wednesday for interfering on the field during a game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving. Tomlin's step onto the field caused Jacoby Jones to swerve just before he was tackled.

On Wednesday the Ravens said on Twitter that "John Harbaugh says he never thought Mike Tomlin's actions were intentional."

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco, during a press conference after the fine was announced said, "I don't like when anybody gets money taken out of their pockets, players, coaches, I don't like to see fines, especially big ones."

The NFL on Wednesday said it will also consider docking Pittsburgh a draft pick because "the conduct affected a play on the field."

Tomlin on Wednesday issued the following statement on the fine;

"As I stated yesterday, I take full responsibility for my actions, and I apologize for causing negative attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. I accept the penalty that I received. I will no longer address this issue as I am preparing for an important game this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins."
