Baltimore Ravens Sign Former Cowboys Defensive End Marcus Spears

Updated: Friday, March 15 2013, 10:05 PM EDT

The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to sign former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears to a two-year deal. Spears played in 15 games last season, starting in six of them. He was drafted in the first-round of the 2005 draft and has 10 career sacks in 119 games. Spears tweeted, “I'm a raven!! See u in Maryland God is so good.” The Ravens have focused on strengthening their defensive line this offseason. They added former Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty earlier this week.

Safety Ed Reed remains unsigned. He left Houston without a contract but it is still considered his likely landing place. Reed is the Ravens’ all-time leader in interceptions, interception yards and defensive touchdowns. He is second only behind Ray Lewis in tackles and has spent his entire 11-year career in Baltimore.
