Cards Come Back To Knot Series

Updated: Sunday, October 27 2013, 02:36 PM EDT

The St Louis Cardinals came back to tie the World Series at one game apiece Thursday night in Boston.

After rookie sensation Michael Wacha allowed a two-run home run to
slugger David Ortiz in the sixth inning, the Cardinals rebounded with
the help of two Red Sox errors to score three runs in the seventh and seize a 4-2 victory at Fenway Park, tying the best-of-seven Series at 1-1.

The Cardinals scored only two runs in their first 15 innings of the
Series before breaking through to help Wacha improve to 4-0 in the
postseason while snapping the Red Sox's nine-game Series winning streak
dating back to the 2004 World Series.

The Cardinals rebounded after Ortiz's homer by loading the bases with one out in the seventh. Matt Carpenter hit a game-tying sacrifice fly in which catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia allowed the throw from left field to get past him and enable Jon Jay to advance to third.

Reliever Craig Breslow, who was backing up home plate, then sailed a throw over third base that allowed Jay to score the go-ahead run.

The Series now shifts to St Louis for Saturday night's Game Three. You'll see it all only on Fox45
