WINTER STORM WARNING

A WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued for the  area starting at 7am Sunday through 3am Monday.  1-3" of snow and sleet is possible starting as snow Sunday morning, becoming sleet and freezing rain and eventually all rain as it comes to an end Sunday night.  Snow and ice-covered roads are possible, especially untreated surfaces.

Orioles beat Tigers 3-1, handing them 1st loss

DETROIT (AP) -- Chris Tillman outpitched Justin Verlander, allowing one run while working into the ninth and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Detroit Tigers 3-1 Sunday to avoid getting swept.


Tillman (1-0) gave up five hits, including Torii Hunter's solo homer in the fourth, in 8 1-3 innings. Tommy Hunter entered with one out in the ninth and Victor Martinez on second base and retired the last two batters for his second save.


Baltimore won for the first time since its opener against baseball's last undefeated team.


Verlander (0-1) gave up two runs on five hits and two walks over eight innings.


Adam Jones drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly after Nick Markakis tripled.
