Stallworth Returns to Ravens as Coaching Intern

Updated: Tuesday, June 10 2014, 05:48 PM EDT

Longtime NFL Receiver Donte Stallworth has joined the Ravens coaching staff for the summer as an intern.

It's part of the NFL's Minority coaching fellowship program, he will work with the receivers until August when his internship concludes.

Stallworth played 10 seasons in the NFL and for the Ravens in 2010 but dealt with injuries for most of the season. Over the course of his career he caught 321 passes for 4,821 yards.

He hasn't officially retired from the NFL but said it was time for him to start exploring other options in the league. He last played in 2012 for the New England Patriots. According to Baltimore Ravens Stallworth said, "It was like the perfect situation for me. It couldn't get any better."

Stallworth is also getting an idea of what it's like to be a broadcaster for the league. He will participate in the NFL's broadcast boot camp next week, where current and former players learn the television business.
