Towson Drops Out of Top 10

Updated: Tuesday, November 5 2013, 10:10 AM EST

The Towson Tigers have fallen out of the NCAA FCS Top 10 for the first time this season. Towson was ranked 7th going into its game against Delaware on Saturday but a stunning 32-31 loss dropped the Tigers to 13th in today's poll.

Towson squandered a 31-10 4th quarter lead, allowing the Blue Hens to score 22 unanswered points in the final 12 minutes to win.

After Delaware's Trevor Sasek connected with Rob Jones for a three-yard touchdown bringing the score to 31-30, the Blue Hens rolled the dice and converted a two-point try with 19 seconds left giving Delaware the lead.

Towson needs some help if they are going to win the CAA. They are one game behind Maine for first place in the conference with two games to go. Last year, the Tigers earned a share of the Colonial title but did not receive an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs.
