BALTIMORE, Md. (WBFF)--- The Baltimore Orioles placed closer Zach Britton on the disabled list with left forearm soreness before the Orioles series-end in Toronto Sunday.

Britton started feeling pain in his throwing arm in his last outing on Friday against the Blue Jays. Britton was able to still pick up his fifth save this season, tying him for the lead in the American League. Britton also has a 54-consecutive saves streak going dating back to last season. Britton earned that Friday night and is tied for second all-time in MLB History. Tom Gordon also saved 54-straight games. Former Dodgers closer Eric Gagne holds the record with 84-consecutive saves.

The Orioles recalled right-handed pitcher Stefan Crichton from Triple-A Norfolk to replace Britton in the bullpen.
