BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Better temps on the way!

A cold front approaches from the northwest and brings us a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms tonight.

This cold front is scheduled to push through the area early Thursday leading to mostly cloudy conditions with scattered showers and highs near 84.

This front is also responsible for pushing Tropical Depression 8 out to sea and away from the Mid-Atlantic.

Once the front pushes to our south and east Friday, drier and cooler air is set to push into the area. Friday sunny, Saturday 30% chance for showers, and Sunday we'll enjoy blue skies and sunshine and highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. Labor Day Monday looks nice too with more sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. The mostly dry stretch takes us through Tuesday with highs climbing back into the upper 80s.

We'll keep a close eye on Tropical Depression 9 as it moves over Northern Florida and towards the Carolinas and eventually into the Atlantic over the weekend. Right now the area of high pressure should keep this storm off our coast, but there is still a bit of uncertainty with a few models bringing closer to shore on Saturday.
