Suspect charged in Israeli man's murder was arrested for another crime the same day

BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) - FOX45 News is learning more information about one of the suspects arrested and charged in the murder of an Israeli man last month.

The oldest of three teen suspects , 18-year-old William Clinton, was arrested for another crime on the same day as the murder – but ultimately released from custody.

Clinton is one of three suspects arrested for the murder of 31-year-old Efraim Gordon just after midnight on May 3rd.

The same day, just before 8 p.m. on May 3rd, Clinton was pursued and arrested by Maryland Transportation Authority Police in a stolen 2010 Burgundy Lexus SUV.

In charging documents for one of the other murder suspects, that stolen vehicle is described as the car used for the suspects to getaway from the scene of the murder.

On Monday, FOX45 News asked MDTA Police if it was aware Clinton was also a suspect in connection to a murder at the time of his arrest.

A spokesperson tells FOX45 News:

No, MDTA Police Officers attempted to stop the vehicle because it had been reported as stolen.

FOX45 News also asked MDTA why a suspect would be released following this type of arrest.

MDTA Police Officers transported Clinton to the Baltimore Central Booking & Intake Center, where a judicial officer determined pretrial release conditions.

It is unknown if Baltimore City Police had identified any suspects by the night of May 3.
