Maryland Governor Larry Hogan's new mask mandate is now in effect. 

As of now, the governor says he has no plans to shut down bars or restaurants but he's still concerned about a spike of coronavirus cases in some counties. 

Political reporter John Rydell sat down with the governor this afternoon for an exclusive one-on-one interview. 

The interview was John's last assignment for FOX45 News. 

He is retiring after nearly three decades covering the state house. 

 The governor presented John with a special citation for his 29 years of service covering Maryland politics.
