BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A Baltimore family is reeling over the death of a loved one, after holiday weekend violence in the city.

It’s his smile that family members say they’ll miss most.

Steven Clark Sr. is dead, gunned down outside his home on Norfolk Avenue where he took care of his ailing mother.

“The man shot and killed my son. He gotta go,” said Clark’s elderly mother, Miss Ann.

The shooting happened Friday morning. Clark just returned home from the store for his mother. When he walked back outside to his car, that’s when they heard gunshots.

“He was begging for his life, 'Man, please don’t do that.' We got witnesses that heard him screaming out, 'Don’t do that, don’t do that. You don’t have to do that.' And they shot him twice in the head,“ said Denise Clark, the victim’s sister.

Clark was 60 years old, one of eight people killed over the Memorial Day weekend.

“All of our investigations are open and active at this time, and we have strong information on several of these cases,“ said Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison.

Police call most of the shootings retaliatory violence.

In fact, Clark’s family members say they believe he was shot because of an ongoing altercation involving the shooter and Clark‘s oldest son.

“He’s in the streets,” said Clark.

“It’s too much of this death going on and people forgiving. I’m not forgiving anyone. They took my brother from me, my best friend. I love him with all my heart,“ she added.

If you have any information about this case or any of the shootings, you’re urged to call police. You can remain anonymous by contacting Meteo Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
