Teen shooting victim celebrates his 15th birthday in hospital

(WBFF) -- Darius Wolfe, 15, was shot last week in northwest Baltimore andspent his birthday recoveringin the hospital.

May 24th was his 15th birthday.

The aspiring boxer was found in an alley with a bullet in his face on the evening of May 18.

His boxing coach, Calvin Ford says Darius is in good spirits and lucky to be alive to celebrate another birthday, even if it is in the hospital.

"It's amazing when I talked to him on the phone. I watched him punch... sip apple juice, laughing and joking," Ford said. "Trauma plays different on kids, its gonna take time, but right now he's pulling through it."

Ford is unsure when Darius will be released from the hospital.
