Man shot, killed inside Highlandtown barbershop

A man is dead after a shooting inside a barbershop in Baltimore’s Highlandtown neighborhood.

Police were called to ‘His and Her Perfections’ on Eastern Avenue around 5 p.m. Monday.

When officers arrived they found a 35-year-old man with a gun shot wound. The victim was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.

A short time later police were notified a second shooting victim had walked into the hospital. Investigators determined he too had been shot while inside the barbershop. No word on his condition.

According to investigators around 5 p.m. two men wearing masks and armed with guns walked into the barbershop and opened fire inside the business

Police believe the shooting was targeted although who was the target and why remains unclear.

Investigators are also looking into whether the shooting may be related to two other cases. Following the shooting police were informed of two more men who were shot. How exactly they’re possibly related to this case remains unclear.

As for the suspects police said they fled the scene. One suspect drove off in a car, while investigators say the other ran east on Eastern Avenue. No further description has been provided.

“My boss heard the gunshots,” said Jeff Diaz, who works at another barbershop on the same block. “Of course it surprises me. It’s weird. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s crazy.”

Police said they’re checking surveillance video in the area.
