    21-year-old man dies after being struck on Route 15 in Frederick Co.

    FREDERICK COUNTY, MD (WBFF) Maryland State Police say that a 21-year-old man died after being struck on Route 15 in Frederick County, early Saturday morning.

    According to authorities, shortly before 7:00 a.m., troopers responded to the scene of an alleged hit and run crash in the southbound lanes, at Old Frederick Road, one mile south of Route 140 in Emmitsburg. Investigators say the victim, identified as Austin Frushour, may have been struck by a 2005 or 2006 Honda CRV.

    The color of the suspected vehicle is unclear. Police believe a silver Ford explorer found nearby, belongs to the victim. The SUV was parked about 300 feet from the scene, on South Seton Avenue, in front of a gas station. Police also believe the victim may have been walking on Route 15 when the incident occurred.

    Officials from MDOT SHA responded to the scene to help with lane closures. The Frederick County State's Attorney has been made aware of the crash. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is investigating the incident. The Honda CRV suspected to be involved in the incident may have noticeable damage to the front end.
