23-year-old dead in fatal shooting

BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- Baltimore man died following a shooting on Baltimore's southwest side on Friday night.

Shortly before 10 p.m., police were called to a shooting in the Clifton Avenue near Chelsea Terrace.

Police say 23-year-old Romell Simms was shot several times, he was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Further investigation revealed Simms and several of his friends were standing on Clifton Avenue, when a dark gray, four door Buick with tinted windows, pulled up to the group.

A African-American man stepped{}out of the vehicle, ran up to the victim and shot him.{}

After shooting the victim multiple times, the suspect fled the scene.{}
