44-Year-old man struck, killed on I-695 near Perring Parkway
A 44-year-old man is dead after being struck on I-695 near Perring Parkway late Thursday night.
Troopers were called to the scene around 11 p.m. for a report of a body on the right shoulder on I-695.
State Police believe the victim, Brian Sedgwick, was struck while attempting to remove debris from the roadway.
The driver in the striking vehicle has been identified as 39-year-old Misti Donielle Sani Rookar Lake.
Lake told police she and several other drivers were swerving around large amounts of wood and debris near exit 31 when she struck something and came to a stop.
Sedgwick's body was found about 800 feet away from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say, victim's vehicle did not have any visible damage, the doors were locked and flashers were on.
The driver of the striking vehicle was not injured. No charges are pending at this time.
Police do not believe impairment was a contributing factor in this crash.
