BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Police seized 12 guns, including assault rifles, from a man after a "brief pursuit" following an "illegal dice game" in south Baltimore on Sept. 11.

Baltimore Police Department's Southern District reported that detectives acted on information from the community that guns were stored in vehicles on Sidney Avenue, in the Westport area.

Police provided more details on the incident Wednesday, explaining they saw an illegal dice game at about 8:40 p.m. on Sidney. One of the men involved fled, clutching his waistband, which indicated to police he had a weapon.

After a pursuit, he discarded a loaded handgun, said police.

Police arrested Darin Sympton, 28, of Pinecone Avenue, and later seized 11 more firearms and ammunition from two vehicles they say he used to store the guns.

Police executed a search-and-seizure warrant and confiscated the guns, according to social media posts.
