Baltimore Police ID victims of fatal bus crash
BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- Police have identified five of the six victims killed in a bus crash early Tuesday morning.
- Yellow bus driver: 67-year-old Glenn R. Chappell
- MTA bus driver: 33-year-old Ebonee Danell Baker
- MTA bus passengers: 51-year-old Cherry Denise Yarborough, 52-year-old Terance Lee Casey, 51-year-old Gerald Holloway and a 46-year-old woman of no fixed address, whose next-of-kin have yet to be determined.
The addresses of each driver's workplace were included in the ID notice -- posted to Twitter by police around 10:30 a.m. -- along with block numbers for the passengers.
Tuesday's collision happened around 6:30 a.m.
Police say the school bus -- occupied by just a driver and an aide -- was on its way to pick up 18 students bound for for Dallas Nicholas Elementary School when it struck the back of a Ford Mustang and a nearby pillar before crashing into an MTA bus, causing "catastrophic damage."
"It literally looks like a bomb exploded in the bus," Baltimore Police Chief Spokesperson T.J. Smith said Tuesday.
The NTSB is now assisting Baltimore’s crash investigation team to determine a cause.
