PARKVILLE, Md. (WBFF) - A huge sinkhole in Parkville has been creating a lot of problems for neighbors and drivers.
The sinkhole opened up in the middle of a residential street, Waltham Woods Road.
FOX45's Kathleen Cairns reported Tuesday that repairs were underway.
It was caused by an 8-inch water main break that caused an 8-foot-wide sinkhole.
Morning commuters had to find their way around Waltham Woods Road, between Cub Hill Road and Summit Avenue.
The sinkhole appeared Monday evening, when water was spilling out of the hole, creating a river, witnesses said.
About 90 homes and businesses were affected, and the work has been turned over to a contractor to complete repairs.
The water main break was restored by about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, but the road remained closed to traffic.
