Cal Ripken's Jr.'s former estate going to auction
REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WBFF) - Baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr.'s 24-acre former estate in Worthington Valley will be auctioned off this spring.
According to a news release from TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, the estate, originally listed for sale at $12.5 million, will go to auction with no reserve on May 12.
The "palatial estate" includes a 21,890-square-foot home includes 15 bathrooms, a home theater with box office, a stage, candy counter and a 10-person spa.
It was expanded in the 1990s to add a large gym, batting cage, training room and locker room.
The property also includes biking and hiking trails, a baseball diamond and 1-acre pond with a fishing pier.
Ripken, 57, lived at the site with his ex-wife Kelly; he has since moved to Annapolis.
