Emaciated puppy found in plastic storage bin ready for adoption

Eddy (Howard County Police Department)

COLUMBIA, Md. (WBFF) -- A puppy left for dead in a plastic storage container in Columbia in March has made a full recovery and is ready for a forever home.

Police were called to Braeburn Road on March 25 at around 4 p.m. after a resident reported finding the container in a grassy area. The puppy, an American pit bull terrier later named Eddy was inside, severely emaciated and couldn’t stand or move.

Police say Eddy was malnourished, had open wounds and missing fur and was covered in urine and feces. Eddy was rushed to an emergency clinic where he has spent the last month receiving treatment.

With the help of the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center, Eddy is now ready for adoption and looking for a permanent home.

Animal control is still searching for information on who abandoned Eddy. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-313-2780.
