FIRST ON FOX: Family speaks after being shot during carjacking attempt
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A South Baltimore father had tears in his eyes as he told FOX45 News about the attack on his family Sunday afternoon.
He explained his family was out Christmas shopping. They were going to Mondawmin Mall to get his 13-year-old a pair of boots when they were attacked at a stop light.
The man, who did not want his name revealed, explained: “He just ran out and said, 'Get out of the car, get out of the car, get out of the car,' and I gassed it. Then, all of a sudden, the windows started busting out, and I felt wet going down my back. I was shot. I didn’t know I was shot six times."
His 13-year-old daughter was sitting in the backseat next to her younger brother. The young boy did not get hit, but the young teen was struck by a bullet in the stomach.
“That’s why I think there was another shooter or it ricocheted in there. It went through her stomach and out her back," he explained.
The 13-year-old is at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in critical condition. Her parents say she will need more surgery.
