Reisterstown man dies in crash on I-695 Wednesday
PIKESVILLE, Md. (WBFF) - A Reisterstown man died after a crash on I-695 near I-795 during rush hour Wednesday.
During a traffic jam, a red Chevrolet driven by Mikhail Shamis hit the back of a silver Volkswagen GTI driven by Leah Birdsell Nguyen, 46, of Westminster, reported Maryland State Police.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, identified as Leonid Shamis, 59, sustained injuries from the crash and went into cardiac arrest at the scene and later died, said police.
Mikhail Shamis, 64, and Nguyen were also taken to Northwest Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
All four lanes of I-695 were temporarily closed Wednesday after the accident.
