Hippodrome: 'The Lion King' brought $19+ million to Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The four-week run of the popular "The Lion King" musical at the Hippodrome brought $19 million to Baltimore City, announced the theater.
Its last show was Sunday, and "the sold-old, four-week run grossed over $5.6 million at the box office and entertained more than 64,000 patrons," said the Hippodrome.
The musical was also estimated to have created an economic benefit of more than $19 million
It is also estimated that the engagement generated an economic benefit of more than $19 million to the city "from travel, hotels, restaurants, parking and other businesses patronized by both theatergoers and production staff," said the theater.
