Liquor store clerk shoots attempted armed robbers, one dead
TOWSON, Md. (WBFF)-- Baltimore County Police's homicide detectives responded to a commercial strip of downtown Towson where a shooting happened Monday night.
Police say shortly before 7 p.m., two men entered Towson Wine & Spirits by Towson Commons on W. Pennsylvania Ave. One man displayed a handgun and announced that they were robbing the store. The clerk behind the counter, a 68-year-old man, produced a handgun from inside of a drawer behind the counter and proceeded to fire multiple shots at the two suspects.
One suspect sustained multiple shots to the chest. Both tried to flee the scene, but one suspect collapsed almost immediately outside the front of the store. He was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the crime scene. Police are actively searching for the other suspect connected to this attempted armed robbery.
