STEVENSVILLE, Md. (WBFF) -- Kent Island High School was evacuated late Tuesday morning after officials say a bomb threat was found written in a bathroom where a fire had been ignited.
Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff posted a notice around 10 a.m. stating that the school was being evacuated as a precaution and should resume normal activities “as quickly as possible.”
Officials say the fire was out upon being discovered and did not activate the fire alarm or sprinkler, but was found by students in the first floor girl's bathroom.
The bomb threat is under investigation by the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office and the Office of the State Fire Marshal will investigate the fire that was set.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Upper Eastern Regional Office at 410-822-7609.
