Man arrested for killing that broke 11-day streak

BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- Baltimore City Police have made an arrest in the murder of a man that broke an 11-day streak without a homicide.

On February 15, 2018, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant on a home located in the 3700 block of Lyndale Avenue.

As a result of that warrant, five handguns and suspected narcotics were seized. Twenty-three year old Gilbert M. Gardner was arrested and charged with gun and drug offenses.

Through the course of their investigation, homicide detectives were able to develop Gardner as a murder suspect.

On February 16, 2018, Homicide detectives obtained a 1st Degree Murder warrant for Gilbert M. Gardner.

Gardner was subsequently charged with the February 13th murder of 22 year-old Sadik Griffin, that occurred in the 3800 block of Elmley Avenue.

Already housed at Central Booking Intake Facility, detectives served Gardner with the 1st Degree Murder warrant at the jail.

Gardner is being held without bail.
