BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Baltimore police arrested a man accused in two armed robberies at Mt. Vernon-area stores last week.

Both armed robberies happened just before noon on Thursday, Jan. 25.

At 11:30 a.m. that day, a business owner at a convenience store on North Paca Street at West Mulberry Street told police a man approached the counter, pulled out a gun and announced a robbery, according to a news release Friday.

The store owner was able to run for safety before the suspect left.

At 11:50 a.m., a suspect entered B-More Wholesale, on North Eutaw Street at George Street.

He began gathering merchandise and, when it was time to buy it, he pulled out a gun and announced a robbery.

The suspect fled the store with money and merchandise.

Kirby Payne, 38, was identified as the suspect in both robberies and was arrested Thursday, said police.
