Man dead, another injured in Baltimore afternoon shootings

BALTIMORE -- WBFF -- Baltimore Police say that one man is dead and another was injured in two shootings that happened within an hour of each other, on Saturday afternoon.


According to authorities, just before 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Catherine Street and Wilkens Avenue to investigate a shooting.

Responding officers found a 31-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. Medics were summoned and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

Citywide shooting detectives assumed control of the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 410-396-2221.

Just before 4:00 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Old Town Mall, to investigate a shooting.

Responding officers found a 28-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Medics were summoned and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
