Man rescued from Inner Harbor

Early morning water rescue from Baltimore's Inner Harbor Feb. 1, 2018

BALTIMORE--(WBFF) --Baltimore City fire officials were called to the 600 block of E. Pratt Street at the Inner Harbor's Barnes & Noble Store just before 5:00 a.m. for a person in the water.

Fire crews with a dive team responded to the scene where witnesses say they saw a man go into the water. Those witnesses remained on scene to give an approximate area where they observed the person go in.

After a primary search divers located the individual and he was transported to an area hospital in cardiac arrest.

"This water is very frigid at this time, so that may have helped this individual to be still alive at this point," Chief Roman Clark said.

Clark says the rescue was performed in less than one hour, which he says is good time considering the time of day and the murky waters.

How the individual got in the water is unknown and is part of the investigation.
