Man shot in Putty Hill Plaza parking lot Monday

NOTTINGHAM, Md. (WBFF) - A man was shot while sitting in his car in the parking lot of a Nottingham-area shopping center last night, announced Baltimore County Police Department Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened at 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Putty Hill Plaza, on Belair Road at Rossville Boulevard in the Fullerton area.

Police said the man drove into the parking lot to make a phone call when he saw a suspect, armed with a handgun, walking up to his car, according to a press release.

The victim drove off but the suspect shot at him, hitting the victim in an upper extremity, according to police.

The injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The shooting is not believed to be targeted, said BCPD spokesperson Cpl. Shawn Vinson. Police don't have any indication that the suspect and victim knew each other.

The investigation is ongoing.
