Three people wounded in separate Baltimore shootings

Three people were shot in three separate shootings Wednesday in West Baltimore, city police said.

  • Just after 8 p.m., patrol officers were called to the3900 block of Tivoly Avenue in the city'sEdnor Gardens Lakeside section after a report of a shooting. Officers on the scene found a 31-year-old man who had been shot in the left leg. He was taken to a hospital. His injuries were described as not life-threatening.
  • Around 5:30 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of Division Street in the city's Madison Park section after a report of gunfire. Officers on the scene found an 18-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital. His injuries were described as not life-threatening. Initially, police reported that a 15-year-old boy was also shot. However, detectives later determined that he fell when he heard the gunfire and cut his hand.
  • Just after noon, a 39-year-old man was shot in the 1600 block of Fulton Avenue in the city's Sandtown-Winchester section. The victim was taken to a hospital. His injuries were described as not life-threatening.

As of Wednesday morning, Baltimore police reported that 120 people had been killed in homicides so far this year, a 6.2 percent increase when compared with the same time period last year. Also Wednesday, police reported 239 nonfatal shootings so far this year, a 9.3 percent increase when compared with the same time period last year.
